This work was part of a curated group exhibition at Red Gallery, Melbourne.
Becoming a mother compelled me to reinvent myself, to embrace uncertainty, to be more open to change, and to give of myself wholeheartedly to my two daughters. How complex it is to find the balance to guide them yet allow them freedom, to accompany them yet to also value their privacy, and to respect their will although there is a lack of experience. As my daughters grow up, I too am entering into another phase that in many ways becomes easier, although at times laden with contradictions. As they become more independent and develop a sense of self, I begin a process of ongoing re-evaluation.
